Interaction Design//Project 3: Mood Boards

Here are two moodboards I have created for my app and wristband style.

When creating these I wanted to make sure they were gender mutual as this would be worn by both female and male. I also want the app and design to be a bit sophisticated as the parents would be using the app.

The first board is guided by the Gender Nuetrality and Confidence:
This second board is based off of Chasity's liking for Saved by the Bell and 80s sitcom. These colors are also gender neutral.

Interaction Design//Project 3: Scenario and Wireframes One

Based off my last three wireframes I decided to expand on the third scenario: Chasity and her mother, Krystin are shopping for groceries at Target when suddenly Chasity notices a girl from her class, Katie and her mother Janet. Chasity notices a girl in her class. Katie is pretty outgoing and immediately starts chatting with Chasity. The mothers notice that the girls get along pretty well. Krystin asks if Janet would like to exchange phone numbers (old school). Janet informs Krystin of a new app called "PlayPal" (not set in stone). After Krystin downloads the app to her Iphone and creates a simple profile for her daughter, Janet and Krystin share accept each other as PlayPals. After, the interaction at Target. Krystin is able to decide what she wants to share with Janet. 4 days later Janet notices that Krystin has nothing scheduled for 4pm and sends a bump within the app asking if Chasity would like to play with Katie at 4pm.

Interaction Design//Project 3: Narrowed Scenarios

Based off my previous scenarios, I decided to take two and create a new scenario based on a couple of basic issues Chasity could take part in.

The first scenario: Chasity has made a friend in music class that invites her to day band camp. A lot of kids attend the event and Chasity becomes overwhelmed with meeting all new people. Her friend introduces her to one of her friends, Brian. Brian plays the trumpet, which is also an instrument plays. The wristband Chasity is wearing notifies her when a common connection is noted in the situation. She feels comfortable about interacting with Brian, and exchanges sheet music to try during the day band camp.

The second scenario actually comes from the first round however we did not highlight it: Chasity's mother has enrolled her in dance class. To prepare Chasity her mother gives the Ipad with an app that runs through situations and simulations that prepare Chasity for what she may encounter at dance class. Due to the app Chasity is able to interact, have fun and make friends with girls in her dance class.

The third scenario: Chasity and her mother are shopping for groceries when Chasity notices a girl in her class. Chasity's mom and the classmates mom has an app where they can schedule play dates with their children with in the app.

Interaction Design//Project 3: Scenarios

The beginning of my story of Chasity. Chasity's mom worries that Chasity will grow up being to shy and not able to be socially involved with children her age. Here are my scenarios that I felt Chasity might be in, where the situation made her feel uncomfortable or how she became comfortable with interaction with kid within her age range. The highlighted scenarios's are one a group and I decided were best to continue with.

The first highlighted first one reads: Chasity isn't a fan of music class. When the teacher asks the students to pair up Chasity selects a girl in her class she has spoken and interacted with before Luckily the girl is very fond of music and music class and helps Chasity understand and have fun in music class.

The second highlighted scenario reads: Chasity wanted to swing at recess but the only swing open was near some older students that Chasity felt inferior. Chasity decided to play jump rope on the basketball court by herself.

The third highlighted scenario reads: Chasity and her mom were watching Saved by the Bell, when the phone rings. It's a neighbor that wants to know if Chasity would like to play. Chasity wants to stay home and watch TV with her mother, where she feels comfortable.

The fourth highlighted scenario reads: Chasity likes to go to the pool, however she can't swim very well. She notices a poster for swim lessons. She mentions the swimming lessons to her mom that comply with her mother and Chasity's schedule. Chasity takes classes with other kids her age.

The fifth highlighted scenario reads: Chasity has made a friend in music class that invites her to day band camp. A lot of kids attend the event and Chasity becomes overwhelmed with meeting all new people.

Now is to find how I can help or place technology within a certain scenario.

Project 2 Reflection

I really enjoyed Project 2. Collaborating with United Way and my peers was a fun experience. It felt like a real project since many of us will be in positions after we graduate to collaborate with those in a firm.
Being cautious of money, providing a pitch for an idea both within our small groups and then to Erika with United Way was a great feature to learning how to adapt to what we will be facing in the near future. I realized I was continually thinking about this project outside the classroom and even on the weekends. I wanted to obtain more information and better my section to make the presentation of "Understanding Poverty" more clear.

The content that was provided by Erika was actually pretty shocking. I learned when that I actually used to live in the poorest county (Wyandotte County) however I didn't feel like my family was ever suffering those around me were. I feel like because we were so consumed in wanting to understand and to draw an impact on those who could visit the exhibit really made us as a class passionate about the project.

I'm happy we were able to come to a conclusion using a variety of different ideas we each had. Even though we didn't get selected for the exhibition I feel we did a great job and created a interesting way for viewers to learn about poverty within Douglas County.

Transformation: Graphics to Finals

After combining our styles and designs we had settled on a design concept that would implement the boxes from the group, the misconception and reality of my group and the more softer feel from the "letterpress group"

Designs before creating continuity between each section:

Designs after continuity:

Missconception and reality are highlighted by blue and red as well as white background on the cardboard paper.
